Background – 30+ years Technical Business Development

My first employment after college was as a Field Engineer for Xerox, authorized to re-design million-dollar industrial machines in a 4 state area that the technical services department could not resolve. Within two years I switched to Marketing, Sales and eventually Strategic Alliance Development in the Computer, Networking, Data Protection, and Network Security industries, from 1982 – 2009.

I began selling and building PCs in 1982, then storage networks in 1984. I helped launch the PC anti-virus business when it began in 1992, followed by business development in network management tools, data storage, data protection, network security, encryption algorithms for data deduplication, and lastly data analytics for the intelligence community.

I developed the first Cloud and SaaS business model in 1995 for one of seven start-ups whom I helped achieve an IPO or M&A, and have perhaps the longest experience in Silicon Valley in theĀ use of Internet based research and outreach strategies and tactics to build technology alliances, starting in 1988.

Since 2009 I retired from corporate business development activities as an employee, but still consult. And I help people and businesses solve technical problems, achieve internet privacy, security, and better protect their data.
